Meet the Conservancy Summer Staff!

Welcome to Pender Hannah and Cassidy!

We are so excited to have these 2 amazing people joining the Conservancy this summer!

You will see them out and about on the island! Please say hi and introduce yourselves!

Hannah Stoakes

Hello everyone! My name is Hannah and I recently moved to the island to work for the Pender Islands Conservancy as their ecological technician. I recently graduated from a fish and wildlife program at BCIT and am excited to start a career in conservation and restoration. I was born and raised in Vancouver and have always enjoyed being outdoors. I enjoy cycling, kayaking/canoeing, camping, and hiking, and am looking forward to exploring these activities on the Pender Islands and the surrounding Gulf Islands. Through working on the water and exploring the coasts of BC I have developed a passion for coastal ecology as well as for our beloved marine mammals. Pender is the perfect place to gain experience and knowledge in these areas and I am excited to learn about the unique ecosystems that make this island so special. I am looking forward to meeting everyone in the community so if you see me around, please don’t hesitate to say hi!

Kassidy Kelly

Hello everyone! My name is Kassidy and I'm super excited to be working with Pender Islands Conservancy on the outreach and education team this summer.

I'm originally from Chilliwack, and I spent my formative years being shaped by the rivers and mountains of the Fraser Valley before venturing to Victoria to pursue a degree in geography and environmental studies at UVic. I'm very passionate about ecological conservation and restoration efforts and the important role that community members play in ensuring the biodiverse lands and waters we enjoy today can be sustainably enjoyed by future generations. I'm looking forward to getting to know the community here on Pender and I hope to see you at our upcoming events!
