Elder Celebration
Two events in one day to celebrate elders – in our forests and in our community. Join Big Tree Registry data collection at 10 am with Priya Puri, Forest Conservation Program Coordinator with Raincoast Conservation Found and/or the unveiling of Nicole Wolf's “Forest Elders” mural at Hope Bay at 4 pm.

About the Event
In forests, as in human communities, elders provide connection, resources, knowledge and resilience. Come celebrate our forest and community elders!
Join Priya Puri, Forest Conservation Program Coordinator with Raincoast Conservation Foundation on a Big Tree Registry data collection adventure on Pender Conservancy Nature Reserve lands.
Sunday, August 16
10 am–12 pm: Meet at the Magic Lake swimming hole parking lot to carpool to the forest activities.
Later in the day, meet artist Nicole Wolf at the Nature Centre to unveil her new “Forest Elders” mural — a companion to her Ocean mural (hosted at the Centre) and inspired by some of our favourite Pender elders.
4–6 pm: Mural unveiling at the Nature Centre in Hope Bay
