About the Event

Kelp is a large underwater plant that provides critical habitat for a wide variety of sea creatures.  If you are handy with a canoe or kayak and wish to participate in an important citizen science project, please join us in an ongoing study mapping kelp beds around Pender Island and the Salish Sea.

Mapping takes place one hour on either side of low tide, thus start times vary. Time commitment is 4 hours each day for 2 - 4 days.
