About the Event

Eelgrass meadows are critical habitat for many marine creatures, including young salmon.  They are also great sequesters of carbon making them an important factor in the fight against climate change.  We will work in two hour shifts at Hope Bay, preparing eelgrass shoots for planting by underwater divers. COVID-19 protocols will be in place. To spread us out more we are asking volunteers to sign-up  for morning or afternoon time slots.  Please contact Erin at info@penderconservancy.org to sign up or for more information. Please bring a chair, snacks, water and a mask. Come out and help restore habitat for  marine fishes and invertebrates!
