KELÁ_EKE Kingfisher Forest: We raised $400,000 in 3 months!

KELÁ_EKE Kingfisher Forest matching campaign update

We raised $400,000 in 3 months!

It has been three months since the Pender Islands Conservancy and Raincoast Conservation Foundation launched a $200,000 matching campaign toward our latest collaborative land protection initiative. This campaign was made possible due to a $100,000 financial pledge from Sitka Foundation, which was then doubled by an anonymous donor. We are pleased to announce that we wrapped up the campaign having reached our matching target! This means we raised $400,000 in 3 months! This amount came from our amazing community of individual supporters, local small businesses, and the Islands Trust Conservancy, a regional land trust focused on safeguarding the lands and waters of the Salish Sea.

Altogether, we have raised a total of $571,222.69 since we announced our intention to purchase and protect KELÁ_EKE Kingfisher Forest. This brings us over 25% of the way to our $2.1 million goal!

A huge thanks to all the people who contributed to this phase of the campaign! Purchasing this 45 acre forest is an ambitious goal considering our organizations completed our last land protection campaign just one year ago. We would not be able to mobilize this sort of conservation action without our incredible community of supporters. We are so grateful to those who have gotten us to this point and to those who will continue to support us as we work toward raising the remaining 75%.
