Antje Anne and Barb, two longtime Pender residents, are encouraging old and new Pender Islanders to donate to the matching campaign to protect Kingfisher Forest. They’ve participated in previous conservation purchases like Brooks Point and S,DÁYES Flycatcher Forest and have jumped in once again. When asked why, Antje Anne said “It’s part of the island’s culture to want to keep these big areas for the future”. “We enjoy these beautiful and important places so much and we need to keep protecting them,” Barb added.
Please join these fellow Islanders and donate to the matching campaign now! Every dollar raised will be doubled through December 31, 2022. You can donate online here, by e-transfer (to treasurer@penderconservancy.org), or in person at the Conservancy Nature Centre at Hope Bay (open Weds-Sun, 11-3). Want to go “old school”? Pop a cheque in the mail to Pender Islands Conservancy, PO Box 52, Pender Island BC V0N 2M0, or drop off an envelope in the Pender Conservany’s folder in the community box at the Driftwood.
